Real Technique's Base Brushes

L to R : pointed foundation brush, powered brush, contour brush, expert face brush, detailer brush, buffing brush

Real Technique brushes have to be one of my favorite brands for base application brushes. They blend so smoothly and don't leave me with any harsh lines or glops of product on my face. I actually prefer these base brushes over my MAC brushes and they retail cheaper then them to at ULTA for $8.99 and $17.99.

I love using this brush when I have more time to do my makeup. It glides and blends foundation so smoothly onto my skin and is perfect for those days I want a more flawless finish.

This brush dusts my face with the perfect layer of setting powder and leaves me shine free, which is super important for me because I have super oily skin and I know you other oily skin girls can agree on how important a good powder brush can be.

The contour brush has to be one of my favorite brushes out of my collection of Real Technique brushes because I love the way it blends my contour and blush and leaves no harsh lines or blotchy spots like other contour brushes have a tendency to do.

This was one of my first foundation brushes and the brush that started my Real Techniques obsession. Besides the contour brush this is definitely one of my favorite brushes, it is great for blending in foundation quickly and covering my skin with an even layer of foundation.

Don't underrate this brush just because of its size. It is brilliant for covering spots and blemishes with concealer and even applying more pigmented lipsticks that tend to be more difficult to apply without getting it all over your face.

This brush is just a great multi-purpose brush, it blends my foundation and concealer perfectly and works great for other powder products like blush, contour, and setting powder.

If you love Real Technique brushes leave a comment down below telling me which ones I should pick up next?

FALLing In Love with Revlon's Bold Sangria

Fall is honestly one of my favorite seasons because it is the start of rainy weather, warm sweaters, and berry toned lipsticks, and what better way to start off the season than with a new nail polish. I have absolutely been loving Revlon's Bold Sangria as it is the quintessential perfect fall nail color. At first sight I wasn't sure if I was going to like this color because in the bottle it has a rather odd undertone to it, but when I applied it my hesitations were instantly gone and I fell in love with this purple almost black/brown color. The color is the perfect deep purple that I think would suit any skin tone and the formulation of this nail polish is brilliant it dries quickly and leaves a nice sheen to the nail.

Album Review⎢'In The Lonely Hour' by Sam Smith

Hi Guys,

If you couldn't tell already from my June Favorites post I am absolutely in love with Sam Smith's album 'In The Lonely Hour' and that's why it has taken me such a long time to write this review because I respect him and his music so much that I wanted to do it justice. But besides the fact of being terrified, I thought it would be fun for todays post to write an album review, which I have only done properly one other time here on the blog for my Best of 2013: Music Edition post.

Ever since this album came out I have been absolutely obsessed with it. This album has instantly become on of the few albums constantly replaying on my computer and phone. This is the perfect album for those of you who can't get enough of Adele's romantic and heartbreaking lyrics and Ariana Grande's pop orchestra backing tracks. This album depicts Smith's struggles, on being so close to finding love but never fully obtaining it. He said he wrote it as a diary that it was supposed be a sad album because he was a sad 21-year old, who had told a man that he loved him but that the man had not reciprocated those feelings for him sparking much of the writing inspiration for the album.

Smith sky rocketed into popularity after releasing 'Latch' which he recorded with Disclosure in 2013. His success continued with songs such Naughty Boy's 'La La La' and 'Stay With Me' which you can find on his debut album. Smith's pipes are yet another great contributor to the success of the album, being able to transition from one range to the other as Smith does is not a easy challenge as anybody with vocal training will be able to tell you. This is album is one I highly recommend to any one looking for a romantic without being overly cheesy.

Please let me know in the comments if you enjoyed this and you would like to see more of these music reviews.

Review: Benefit's The POREfesional

Hi Guys,

As you all know I have terrible pores and am always searching for the next miracle product to help ease their appearance. After hearing everybody and their mother talk about Benefit's The POREfessional I knew I had to get my hands on this products. This product is flipping amazing and really helps blur the appearance of my pores and keeps my makeup in place. I love that this is also slightly tinted so I can use this as a slight bit of extra coverage. This stuff also has a really pleasant smell to it too.

To apply this I squeeze a dime size amount onto my finger and pat this onto any places I have problematic pores (for me it is generally in my cheeks). To make sure everything is blended evenly on my skin I use a patting/rubbing motion to smooth it all out. I then apply my the rest of my makeup like usual and it looks ten times better than without this miracle little product.

Review: Sinful Shine Nail Polishes

Hi Guys,

If you don't know by now I am completely a bargain hunter, but don't take that in the wrong way I still look for quality when I am shopping.  Sinful Nail Polishes are definitely one of my favorite bargain buys because they are just great quality for a ridiculously low price ($1.99 to be exact but you can find them on sale for just $0.99). When I saw that Sinful colors had a  come out with a shine version of their already amazing nail polishes I was so excited to try them. I bought six nail polishes in the shades Spitfire, Skinny Dipping, Wisp, Sailors Delight, Come Hither, and Dark Room.  I think the names of these polishes are so cute and make the product just that little but more special to pick up at your local drugstore. These are also really well pigmented and I only need to coats to get full color payoff and they last super long too. I had my last application on for about five days before I had any serious chipping. My favorite shade out of the ones I picked up is definitely Spitfire because it is just the perfect light lilac for summer and I think it would look beautiful any skin tone. I will be sure to be picking up more of these lovelies very soon.

Review: New Miss Manga Mascara

Hi Guys,

While I was wandering the beauty section of Target, L'Oreal's new Miss Manga Mascara caught my eye. Now I had seen the commercials for this product on TV and was rather curious about it. The flex tip applicator and mega volume were the qualities that really caught my attention. While I do like the formula of this product and think is does add extra volume to my eyelashes, I am not to keen on the design of the flex tip brush applicator sadly. I feel like the formulation of the mascara is to heavy for the lightness of the mascara wand and it makes it rather hard to apply. I will continue to use this mascara until it runs out because it has a good formulation of mascara, I am just not to fond of the applicator and for that reason I would not repurchase this product again.

Review: Vaseline Lip Therapy in Rosy Lips

Hi guys,

About a month ago I picked up the Vaseline Lip Therapy in Rosy Lips while in Target. I have absolutely adored the Vaseline line of skin products for quite sometime now and was very curious to try this when I saw it. I have to say it is so moisturizing, I have even referred to it as my "Super Lip Balm" because it stays on so long and keeps my lips supper supple and soft.
I use this every night before bed and it helps keep my chapped lips moisturized and nurtured during these freezing cold winter month. It also is super long lasting since you don't have to use a ton of it every time you apply it. This is also a very inexpensive product retailing at only $2 in most stores. The Vaseline Lip Therapies are available in two more additional flavors, original and cocoa butter, which I will for sure be trying when I finally finish this one.

XOXO,
Jackie
