If you don't already know that I am a complete music junkie. I range out in my taste of music and I listen to many different genres of music. So instead of doing a best of 2013 beauty post, I thought I would change it up and do a Best of 2013 : Music Edition post. I have listened to so much music this year and I am definitely more qualified to give a music review than a beauty review of the year. I hope you enjoy this last blog post of the year. NOTE: These are not listed in any chronological order.
1. Native - OneRepublic
I much anticipated the release of OneRepublic's third album Native because I have been a fan of theirs since the beginning. Some of my favorites on their album are "I Lived", "Counting Stars", and "If I Loose Myself". This is a great album all together and I was lucky to get this for Christmas from my little sister who knew I had been listening to it on repeat nonstop on YouTube. I was even had fortune of seeing them live, which if I may say so was pretty spectacular, they sound as good live as they do on the soundtrack which is a rare entity now days.
2. Yours Truly - Ariana Grande
I absolutely adore Ariana Grande's voice and her style is just so perfect (but that is not the reason I love the album). The album features collaborations with artist such as Nathan Sykes ( The Wanted), Leon Thomas, Mika, Big Sean, and Mac Miller. Her some Mariah Carey-esc vocals make the track addictive and very easy to listen. This is the perfect girly album I have been searching for.
3. Midnight Memories - One Direction
I absolutely love One Direction yes I know there are many people who think other wise about the band but I say differently. The guys sweet harmonies on the tracks make this album a must listen too. I love song such a "Happily", "Through the Dark", "Midnight Memories", "Story of My Life", and "Best Song Ever". If you haven't listened to this album, please do yourself a favor and listen to it, even my mom and dad who don't particularly care for One Direction said they actually like some of the songs on this album.
4. The 1975 - The 1975
The 1975 self titled album is one to listen to if you haven't already listened to. Some of my favorite songs on the album are "The City" and "Chocolate". I mean how could anybody not love a song with the title of chocolate. I found out about the 1975 through one of my favorite YouTubers MissGlamorazzi who raved about them every month on her monthly favorites videos.
5. Bad Blood - Bastille
Okay so if you have been keeping up with my blog you will know I absolutely love Bastille. I have been posting about them nonstop putting the album Bad Blood in my Stocking Stuffers Under $20 and November Favorites posts. If you like alternative, lyrical, story telling music this is the album for you. Lead singer Dan Smith's raspy vocals make it impossible not to fall in love with the album. He even wrote every song on the album which I think is completely amazing. My favorite song which I have been listening to nonstop is "Flaws".
XOXO,
Jackie
