Friendsgiving | Florals and A Happy Turkey Day

Thanksgiving is tomorrow! (*eek*) I can't wait for my house to be filled with family and my belly stuffed with food but until then to help ease the wait until the day of food and fun begins, I thought I would show you what I wore to my Friendsgiving dinner earlier this week. Hopefully this might give you some Thanksgiving Day/day to day outfit inspiration.

But seriously. Turkey Day can you please come sooner? Thanks!

The Look:

I was really digging my hair today and decided I would go all natural instead of trying to style it. That and I am relatively lazy when it comes to doing my own hair and can rarely ever be bothered to do anything besides any updo that requires just a swick and flish. For makeup, I wanted to keep it neutral and tis the season, so I stuck to warm matte browns and shimmery golds for the eyes and topped it off with a feline flick. When it came to choosing my lippie, I opted for my favorite fall shade M.A.C. Viva Glam III which is a beautiful dusty brick rose and suitable for all skin tones in my opinion.

Finally for my outfit I wanted to keep it cute, cozy, and comfy and opted for this classic floral button up skirt I bought from H&M, paired with my Forever 21 black crop sweater which I layered underneath my favorite green moto jacket. I finished off the look with a pair of tights, which are a must in this weather, and my favorite black booties I picked up forever ago from Target.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Sunday Post | Farmer's Market Fun

After briefly talking about it friday night, my friend Rachel and I decided to visit our local farmer's market. We couldn't wait to visit all the cute little stands filled with flowers, fruit, and jewelry all locally grown and made with care. So this morning we woke up bright and early and headed down to see what the local community had to offer. It was fun to see how easily Rachel and I were able to persuade one another to buy something we thought was too cute to pass up because everything was just too cute. In the end I ended up with a cute gold wire ring and a gingerbread bow which sadly I forgot to take pictures of but I am sure will be popping up in outfit posts very soon. I hope you are all having an amazing sunday and I highly advise if you haven't visited your local farmer's market lately go stop by soon. I promise you won't regret it.

Warm Weather Fall Outfit

This is one of my favorite outfits in my closest at the moment, the slightly structured yet flow-y kimono paired with my favorite maroon crop top, ripped hi-rise jeggings, and sparkly Sperry Top Siders makes for the perfect end of warm weather outfit. This is one outfit that won't have you melting by midday during these warm early fall days but still has the feel and colors of a proper fall outfit.

Sunday Post : Take Time For You

Taking care of yourself can seem like a simple and obvious task at hand but can quickly be pushed aside by the everyday activities that we as busy bees can't seem to take a break from. While it may seem impossible to take time out of your busy day for yourself, I'm here to tell you it is totally possible and heres how:

1. Schedule Time for Yourself and Stick To It
While this may seem like a simple step to say "Hey I'm going to take a break" and stick to it, it can actually be really tough. Whether you are busy studying for your next big exam or just busy with another activity life has thrown your way it can be hard to convince yourself not to feel guilty about giving yourself that half an hour break you know you deserve and to take time away from finishing the tasks at hand. But it is because of this break you will come back more energized and ready to tackle the next task on your to do list. So take that break, you deserve it!

Tip: While it is important to take a break, it is also important to know the difference between a break and procrastination, and half an hour to forty-five minute break should be just enough time to help you replenish your energy and get you ready to start working again.

2. Pick An Activity
Whether you are doing yoga, cozying up with a good book, binging on your favorite Nexflix show (right now mine is Gossip Girl, how can you not fall for the endless good looks of Nate Archibald?), or just catching up on some well deserved sleep; you earned it! Pick something you don't get to do nearly enough (like working out I wish I had the chance to do this more often since it is actually something I really enjoy) or something that is relaxing and will put your mind at ease. Remember, whatever you choice to do with your time off, it's supposed to help you relax and have fun so worry about yourself and pick something you'll enjoy.

3. Fill Your Space With Relaxing Products
Whether it's candles or fairy lights, it's great to have relaxing products surrounding you throughout the day. Having products like these both in your work and living spaces will allow you to unwind and keep your head clear during stressful situations and feel as though you are always on a break.

So take that break, you deserve it and I'll see you Wednesday with a new post.

Bold Lipped Fall Makeup | 2015

In California it is very rare that the seasons are reflected in the weather or nature. While the leaves do change colors and the mornings are colder, by mid day it is already 80 degrees outside and will be like this for the next month and a half 'til fall really takes charge. So in the meantime while I wait to be able to wear my cozy knit sweaters all day without melting into them, I like to trick myself into believing that it really does feel like fall by putting my makeup into full fall gear.

During the fall and winter months bolder darker lip colors are a staple and are always in my bag when I go out. I have especially been loving MAC's Viva Glam III lipstick, which was actually my first ever MAC lipstick purchase and has left me wanting to go back in ASAP and see what other great fall shades they have. The lipstick is a dark dusty brick rose color (if that makes sense) and has a matte finish to it. While it may be slightly drying to the lips it is definitely worth apply and extra layer of lip balm because the color pay off is beautiful and perfect for every skin tone.

Cozy Candles | 2015

As fall is officially here and Bath and Body Works has launched their new very festive and very autumnal candle range, I couldn't help but pick up a few of their new candles to join my growing collection. During these colder months there is nothing more appealing to me than cozying up in bed with a good book and huge cup of hot cocoa with the scent of burning candles filling my room.

The first candle I picked up while in Bath and Body Works was the Brown Sugar Allspice candle, which smells so deliciously of baked goods and the sweet and spicy warmth that is so often associated with fall. I also picked up their Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake candle which smells of pumpkin spice and perfectly sweetened vanilla cream, this one I know will make me hungry and send my sweet tooth on a crazy sugar hunt. Every time I smell these candles I can't help but smile and get excited for the leaves to start changing colors and for many, many rainy days to come!

Happy first day of Fall!

Sunday Edition : Spread Love and Happiness | 2015

Hello.

It's been a long time since I last updated here on the blog. No, I wasn't dead I was just busy working and going to school but I was also busy living truly and freely for the first time in a really long time. While I was gone I learned a lot about myself and life in general, I had real face to face conversations and left my phone on silent more often then not, and met some really cool people who I hadn't realized were as down to earth and just kind-hearted people until I started TALKING to them.

It wasn't until a couple sundays ago when I was in the car with a friend, that I hadn't really talked to in almost two years, that this train of thought hit me. It was the thought of how someone could still be so sweet and kind but was still able to be strong and not rude at all. While in high school you quickly learn that lots of kids and even adults (I'm not saying all do but there are plenty of them that do) treat others in a rude manner in order to get there point across and don't bother listening to the other person's point of view before getting angry and upset. Even though you regularly here it stressed to be nice and polite to other people, it is so rarely the case of what actually happens. It struck me then, that I wasn't fully living up to that standard either, to let people make their point before I judged them for the kind of person they were based on a quick and hasty analysis and that I needed to make a change myself.

So I made a pact that from that day on I would try my best to just try and spread love and happiness in the world instead of hatred and to listen to people before judging their character. While I know there are plenty of people I won't always get along with or like very much and that there will be bad days I am trying my best to be the best person I can be. To try my best to stay away from negative people and surround myself with positivity and be strong because that is the kind of person I want to be. The one whose smiling and finally listening to that old saying her mom always told her growing up, "Treat people the way you want to be treated".  I'm sending you all, love and good vibes. I know its only been a few weeks since that car ride but I know this will be a change for good.

See you soon.

Love,

NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base

I have absolutely been adoring the NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base lately. It does a great job of making sure my eyeshadow won't crease and will totally stay all day (even on those long haul days). This primer is also perfect for all of us oily skinned folk to because it will make sure that your eyeshadow isn't going to be sliding everywhere by midday. The doe foot applicator makes for quick, easy, and mess free application too.

This primer retails for $25 at Sephora and NARS boutiques near you. While it can be a bit of a splurge it is totally worth it because of its long lasting staying and light-weight formula.

Leave a comment below telling me what other eyeshadow primers I should try because I am always on the hunt for the next great primer.

Peace,
     Jackie

Sunday Edition : Pamper Night In

Recently on my trip into Lush I rediscovered my love for bath bombs. Especially, Twilight which was my first ever bath bomb and still to this day remains to be my favorite and the one I automatically go to when I walk into the shop. I love the scent and the color it turns my bath water when it fizz out and even the fact that it leaves my bath water with bits of glitter.

The other thing I have really been digging lately is my Skinfood Black Sugar Mask. I don't know if it was just the Skinfood Black Sugar Mask by itself or the combination of the mask and the steam from the bath but this really helped my skin clear up which is great because it has been breaking out more than usual and has just been really hard to care for. I then ended my night, cozying up in my favorite donut pj, koala slippers, and with Zoella's new book 'Girl Online' which I have really been loving.

I hope you all are doing well and I will see you on wednesday with a brand new post.

Peace,
      Jackie

OOTD : 80's Denim Jacket

This jacket has to be one of my favorite piece that my mom still keeps in her closet from the 80's. It's so thick and warm and is super fun to pair with different patterns I have in my closet. I chose today to pair it with a floral dress I got from American Eagle a while back, a pair of black tights, and my Cherry Rogue Doc Martens. To complete the look I through my hair into a top knot and chucked on some of my favorite pieces of jewelry.

All photos were taken by my lovely little sister.

tiger head head bracelet from Topshop // bow ring from Brandy Melville
I hope you all have a fabulous day and I will see you on sunday for another Sunday Edition!

 Peace,

Sunday Edition: Hello.

Hi guys,

Remember me?!? Its been so long since I last posted anything on here and I am so sorry for that. But having this time off has really allowed me to figure out what I want to do with this little space on the internet that I call mine.

So what have I decided?

Well first things first. I will be posting twice a week every week. There will be a post on wednesday and then a post I would like to call the Sunday Edition posted every sunday. This will be a catch up post and will be rather chatty where I can share with you what I have been loving or what I have been up to that week.

Having this time off has also made me realize just how much I love blogging and would love to continue it for a long time to come. This is not just a hobby but a passion that I am lucky to be pursuing. So I just wanted to say thank you!

Well here it is the first ever Sunday Edition.

XOXO,
