Fitness Diary: Week 1

Hi Guys,

One of my goals for this summer was to workout at least three times a week. To keep me motivated I thought I would write a fitness diary just to show the progress I have made from start to finish. Along the way I thought I would share with you guys what workouts I have been loving. I will be writing an entry into this post everyday after my workout then uploading at the end of the week to keep you all up to date. And please if you are looking to workout this summer and get in shape, please leave me a comment so we can get motivated and become the best version of us we can be together. As a little bit of a heads up I do most of my workouts at home seeing as I don't want to spend the money on a gym membership and don't tend to go on runs/hikes very often. Also as I decided wednesday night to write this series I don't have pictures for the first two days of my workouts.

Monday / June 23, 2014:

Today was my first workout in over two months and it definitely showed me how out of shape I have become. I chose to do one of the NTC app workouts because they are so simple to use, they show you timers, have a guide leading you along the way telling you what to do, and let you adjust the workout to your exact specifications too. I actually didn't listen to any music because I just for got to put some on but it was actually nice being able to use the quiet to get into a zone where I could just push through the exercises and check in with my body.

Wednesday / June 25, 2014:

For todays workout I chose a yoga routine that I found via FitSugar's YouTube account. I had never tried yoga before today and didn't honestly think it would be this hard, it was not overall very physically enduring whilst it was just challenging to keep my balance and to keep my breathing at the right tempo. I thoroughly enjoyed doing this workout and will absolutely becoming back to it again. I again didn't listen to music but this time it was to really take time to focus on my core and my zen level because isn't that what yoga is all about find your zen and spiritual balance.

Saturday / June 28, 2014:

I actually was so in love with yoga workout I did on wednesday. My biggest focus today was to just work on my breathing and technique. This is a must for getting through this routine and I found last time I was having a bit of trouble with that. I promise next week I will a different workout.

This is me looking sweaty and gross after todays workout!

Review: New Miss Manga Mascara

Hi Guys,

While I was wandering the beauty section of Target, L'Oreal's new Miss Manga Mascara caught my eye. Now I had seen the commercials for this product on TV and was rather curious about it. The flex tip applicator and mega volume were the qualities that really caught my attention. While I do like the formula of this product and think is does add extra volume to my eyelashes, I am not to keen on the design of the flex tip brush applicator sadly. I feel like the formulation of the mascara is to heavy for the lightness of the mascara wand and it makes it rather hard to apply. I will continue to use this mascara until it runs out because it has a good formulation of mascara, I am just not to fond of the applicator and for that reason I would not repurchase this product again.

10 Things You Probably Didn't Know About Me

Hi Guys,

Today I thought I would share a little bit of myself with you by doing a 10 things you probably didn't know about me (and probably don't care about) post. I thought this would be a fun way for you all to get to know me a little better.

1. If I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life it would hands down have to be Pho (Vietnamese noodle soup).

2. When I was younger and saw The Devil Wears Prada for the first time it inspired to have a career in fashion and beauty and still does.

3. I have been singing for seven years and would love to do something with it career wise later on in life.

4. I watch way to many hours of YouTube videos everyday.

5. I live in California and love the beach.

6. I love the fog and rain more than I love the sunshine.

7. My favorite color is and has always been purple.

8. I love PJs and during the summer I stay in them almost all day.

9. I am a rather introspective person and over think things all the time.

10. After school is over I would love to travel the world like a nomad for a while.

OOTD #3 and Milkmaid Braid How To

Hi Guys,

Today I thought I would show you my super simple outfit of the day and how to recreate my milkmaid hairstyle.

How Milkmaid Braid:

To create this updo I brushed through my hair with a paddle brush to make sure there were no knots and then parted my hair down the middle to create equal sections of hair. I then created two normal braids and secured the ends with rubber elastics. I pulled the braids a little to create more texture and volume. Now is the time if you want to pull out any face framing pieces of hair. Next I wrapped one braid over the top of my head and pinned it down with bobbie pins, I then repeated the same steps on the other side. To make the hairstyle a little bit more put together I pinned any fly away hairs down and curled the pieces of hair I pulled out. I finished off the look by spraying it with hairspray to give the hairstyle a little bit more hold.

Summer Wish List 2014

Hi Guys,

I had so much fun back in February creating a wish list of things I wanted to purchase, that I had to create another one for summer. As a heads up I am sorry the numbering is really funky I just wanted to keep everything within its categories.

After hearing all the beauty bloggers raving about these I am
excited to get my hands on one.

Great full-proof summer foundation.

Can you tell I am curious about the Tarte Amazonian Clay range?

This is the perfect travel palette.

I think this the perfect thing to keep in your bag all summer long.

These are my goto clothing pieces for summer because you can just slip it on.

I know not everybody is a fan but I really like them!

This is perfect for loose more constructed waves.

This is amazing for no heat hairstyling.

Perfect way to get to where you want to go while still enjoying the summer weather.

Review: Soap & Glory Flake Away Scrub

Hi Guys,

Can I just say I am absolutely in love with this weather right now! It is totally shorts season and that means time to break out all the leg care products. While I have used a Soap & Glory face mask before, I was really curious about some of there other products and couldn't wait to get my hands on them ASAP. The Soap & Glory Flake Away scrub has been one of my favorite products I have used to make my skin super smooth and supple this summer. This stuff smells so good because it contains shea butter, sugar and peach seed powder which not only smell good but are super good for your skin too. I just love opening the jar up in the shower because it smells so good. If you are looking for a relatively affordable scrub this is the one to get. Ahh I just can't stop talking about how absolutely amazing this product is and cannot wait to get my hands on this product from Soap & Glory.

Review: Jordana FabuLiner

Hi Guys,

Recently I picked up the Jordana FabuLiner while in Walgreens. This eyeliner is the perfect eyeliner for summer because once it is applied it is not going anywhere. I have worn this eyeliner with eyeshadow and a primer and then I have just worn this on my bare eyelids, which may I remind you can get rather oily. The pointed felt tip makes it so easy to apply and allows you to get the perfect line every time, wether it be bold or thin. Plus the price for this handy dandy little product is just $2.29, which is just absolutely ridiculous for the quality of this product. The only thing about this eyeliner that I am not to keen about is the felt tip applicator being as stiff as it is, but it would not keep from repurchasing this product because beside that one little knick it is a great product. This is definitely going to be one of my summer makeup must haves.

Me wearing the eyeliner with not eyeshadow on.

Starting From Scratch

Hi Guys,

So I have been gone for a while now and that is only because the last few weeks of school before summer were absolutely crazy and left me with absolutely no time to blog. But I just wanted to take this leave of absence to while finish up with finals but also strategize the way I work on this blog. That means better time management and actually keeping to my word when I say there will be weekly uploads (which I promise with summer there will definitely be).

My main focus in starting anew with this blog is to make it equally as enjoyable for you to read as it is for me to create for you all. I look forward to so many things I have planned for you guys and to creating more interesting and enjoyable content for you guys to read.

XOXO,
